Smart Rostering Tools

Smart rostering tools and controls are available to assist in selecting the most suitable staff member for a task, preventing over-servicing, and even estimating the travel time from a staff member’s previous appointment/shift. Nightingale also issues a warning if it anticipates that the individual may not arrive on time.

Key rostering features include:

  • Travel Time & Distance Calculation: Utilising the Google Maps API, this feature ensures that staff members have adequate time to travel between appointments. Users can also filter by distance to optimise costs within the client’s budget.
  • Staff Availability Checks: A staff member who is unavailable at a specific time will not be included as an option in the roster.
  • Staff Exclusions: This feature prevents specific staff members from being assigned to any of the client’s appointments.
  • Interests: Matching common interests enhances the experience for both clients and staff.
  • Competencies: Users can specify the necessary competencies for staff to provide optimal care to clients. The tool allows for the addition of multiple competencies per staff member to ensure all required skills are met for each patient.

Never Exceed Client Funding

Nightingale provides pop-up warnings to alert you, and restricts rostering, when a specific setting is enabled. This feature prevents you from scheduling beyond the client’s allocated funding. If you attempt to exceed the set funding limit, Nightingale notifies you that any excess will try to be claimed from the government funding agency, likely resulting in rejection and non-payment. Additionally, Nightingale ensures that all appointments are scheduled within the client’s funding dates.
